OBJECTIVES
- - - After you have completed this module you should be able to do the following:
----- - - 1) On any view of the brain in which the diencephalon is visible, draw a line around it and label the structures that lie adjacent to it.
----- - - 2) On a midsagittal view of the brain, label the structures that are considered a part of the epithalamus. We forgot to label the habenular commissure on our atlas view of slide 24 - try to do so on your copy.
----- - - 3) Identify the subthalamic nucleus on frontal views of the brain.
----- - - 4) The focus in this module is on identifying thirteen thalamic nuclei. Of the thirteen, we have dealt with nine in previous modules. Just to remind you, the nine are:
---------- You should be able to identify each of these nuclei on slides. Describe the inputs, outputs and general functions sub served by each nucleus.
