Ultimately, you should be able to identify all
these structures. For now fill in the blanks for at least 6 of them on
side B. Good choices would be: A, C, E, J, K, and M. We realize that sometimes
it is difficult to tell where the pointer end. E is a space, and the other
5 are structures which are identified in Figure 1-35.
Draw in the red nucleus in this view. In which division of the brainstem
is it found? Do the same for the reticular formation.
The quality of this image is poor, but try to draw a line around the
nodulus, and use an arrow to point to the primary fissure.
Identify K. once again. Note the relationship of this structure to the
hypothalamus, above. Just for fun, try to draw in the pituitary on this
view, because it also has an important relationship to structure K. What
type of visual field impairment would you expect if a pituitary tumor
expanded upward, damaging K? Also, identify D,
