OBJECTIVES
After you have completed this module you should be able to do the following:
----- 1. Draw in, on a figure like our Figure 2-4, schematic representations of the anterolateral and trigeminal pathways. They should include such details as where synapses occur and where the pathways crosses the midline. They should also show the somatotopic organization of the pathway.
----- 2. Identify the anterolateral and trigeminal pathways on "our" slides (the ones shown in our atlas of brainstem sections.) You should also be able to identify some of the major structures that lie adjacent to the pathways.
----- 3. Draw in the pathways on sections through the spinal cord and brain as well as on the other views of the CNS used in this and earlier modules.
