MODULE 1 - ADDITIONAL SOURCES OF INFORMATION

1) Fundamental Neuroscience for Basic and Clinical Applications by Duane E. Haines. Third Edition. The coverage of the topics taken up in Module 1 is lengthy and detailed, but the diagrams are excellent. Don't start by trying to read all these chapters, but keep them in mind as a place to go for more information.

Chapter 1 is a good, general introduction to the material covered in the Pixelated Brain.
Chapter 5 is an excellent, but detailed, summary of brain development. We barely touch on this issue in Module 1, but you should be         aware of the source.
Chapter 6 covers the ventricles, choroid plexus and cerebrospinal fluid
     Chapter 7 covers the meninges.
Chapter 16 covers the cerebral hemispheres (telencephalon).

2) Clinically Oriented Anatomy, Fourth Edition by Keith L. Moore and Arthur F. Dalley. The sections on the skull (pages 832-850) and the meninges (pages 875-887) are excellent. The first part of the section on the brain (pages 887- 893) is also relevant to material covered in this module. Glance through these sections and focus on the topics that are taken up in this module.
